What we collect
- Your USDOT or MC number and the public FMCSA records tied to it (authority, safety rating, inspections, insurance filings, and the contact email on your FMCSA registration).
- Account details when you sign in: your email address and, if you use Google sign-in, your name. Sign-in is handled by Clerk.
- What you tell us: broker applications and results, fixes you made, sharing preferences, and anything you paste in, such as a broker email.
- Insurance documents you upload, such as a declarations page. We extract the coverage and premium fields and do not keep the original file.
How we use it
- To score your broker readiness, explain blockers and build your fix plan.
- To confirm you control a USDOT number by emailing a one-time code to the address on its FMCSA registration.
- To produce anonymous, aggregated benchmarks (for example typical premiums or approval rates for carriers like you). Benchmarks are shown only when at least 10 carriers are in a group, so no single carrier can be identified.
How we protect it
- Your identity (USDOT, MC, name, contact) is stored separately from the analytical data. Analytics use a one-way anonymous ID, not your USDOT number.
- Your application history is visible only after you verify you control the USDOT number.
- Data is encrypted in transit and stored on DigitalOcean in the United States.
What we never do
- We never sell or share your identifiable data with brokers, insurers or anyone else without your explicit opt-in, which you can turn off at any time.
- We don’t sell insurance or receive insurance commissions. If we show a partner offer, it is labeled.
Service providers
We use a small set of providers to run CarrierReady: DigitalOcean (hosting and database), Clerk (sign-in), Resend (email), Anthropic (reading uploaded insurance documents) and, for payments, Stripe. Each processes data only to provide its service to us.
Your choices
- You can change sharing preferences on your dashboard.
- You can ask us to export or delete your account and identifiable data by emailing us. Anonymous aggregate statistics that no longer identify you may be kept.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll update the date above and tell signed-in users before it takes effect.
